SACRAMENTO, March 26 (UPI) -- Actor and filmmaker Clint Eastwood said he isn't upset Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has decided not to reappoint him to the California parks commission.

The Los Angeles Times said Eastwood spoke with Bobby Shriver, Schwarzenegger's brother-in-law, and found out he, too, had been dropped from the commission.

"I talked to him the day we were not reappointed, or as Donald Trump would say, 'You're fired,'" Eastwood told the newspaper. "So we laughed about it. And I said, 'Me? But you're his brother-in-law!' and he said, 'But you're his friend and longtime mentor!'"

Schwarzenegger has said he opted not to reappoint Eastwood and Shriver because their terms had expired and he wanted to give others a chance to serve.

Eastwood said he bears no grudge against Schwarzenegger regarding the decision.

"I'm a grown person," Eastwood said. "I'm not a kid. The parks is a voluntary job, and it's just a job you do, when they need you. It was fun. ... They make changes, and that's their prerogative. It's not like I need a day job."
