LOS ANGELES, March 22 (UPI) -- Federal tax fillings for 2006 have shown Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have given more than $8 million to various charities.

People magazine said the celebrity couple paired their verbal support of various causes with charitable donations in the form of $4,402,317 from Pitt and $4,123,613 from Jolie.

Records from the same year show that Pitt's Make It Right Foundation made donations totaling $2,367,935. The foundation raised $5 million for charities in 2007, People said.

Among the charities the film stars have donated their funds to are the Namibia Red Cross Action Program, Global Green U.S.A. and the Epidermolysis Bulloma Medical Research Foundation.

Actor Morgan Freeman recently commented on the celebrities during the Pathfinders to Peace Forum and Gala, citing Pitt's ongoing efforts in Louisiana and Jolie's dedication to others.

"Aside from all that physical beauty, she's a real person," Freeman told People of his "Wanted" co-star.
