HOLLYWOOD, March 18 (UPI) -- Hollywood's community leaders are on a talent hunt for a new honorary mayor since Johnny Grant died this year at the age of 84.

The post's chief responsibilities are helping the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce choose Walk of Fame honorees and stage the star unveilings, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Three people seem to be leading contenders for the non-paid position -- former 1980s billboard icon Angelyne, longtime Hollywood radio personality Gary Owens and former "Let's Make a Deal" host Monty Hall, the Times reported.

Chamber President Leron Gubler has been filling in as master of ceremonies for unveilings since Grant died.

"There's no urgency," Gubler told the newspaper. "The board decided they weren't doing anything about Johnny's replacement until after his memorial service March 6. Now they're just brainstorming."
