LOS ANGELES, March 18 (UPI) -- Legal papers reportedly have been filed in Los Angeles Superior Court to officially change Destiny Hope Cyrus' name to Miley Ray Cyrus.

The pop star's parents filed the petition last week, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

The 15-year-old daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus is known professionally as Miley.

She and her father star on the TV series "Hannah Montana," where she plays Miley Stewart, a high-school student who lives a secret double life as pop star Hannah Montana.
