LOS ANGELES, March 15 (UPI) -- U.S. heiress Paris Hilton said Friday she feels "secure" in her new romantic relationship with rocker Benji Madden.

Hilton, whose family owns the global Hilton Hotel chain, said her relationship with the Good Charlotte rocker is completely real despite rumors to the contrary, People.com reported.

"We're really happy ... I feel very safe and very secure," Hilton said of the couple's relationship.

The celebrity couple was even seen this week wearing matching jewelry, items Hilton said were "a very special present I got."

Initial reports of the couple's relationship were questioned following Hilton's recent participation in the E! comedy series "Pop Fiction."

People.com said for the series, Hilton went out in public with a fake shaman as part of a prank organized by the new reality series.

"It shows how you can't really believe what you see," Hilton said of the collaborative public joke.
