BERLIN, March 7 (UPI) -- The pop band No Angels has been chosen to represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest this May in Belgrade, Serbia.

Der Spiegel said the girl group beat out four other acts in a televised sing-off Thursday for the honor of participating in the famed international competition.

Germany has only won the Eurovision Song Contest once; Nicole took home the top prize for singing "A Little Bit of Peace" in 1982.

Jazz musician Roger Cicero, Germany's representative in last year's competition, came in 19th out of 24, Der Spiegel said.
