LOS ANGELES, March 7 (UPI) -- U.S. recording artist Lisa Marie Presley said she felt forced to reveal her pregnancy because of the media's snide remarks about her weight gain.

The daughter of late music great Elvis Presley is pregnant with her third child and due in the fall, People.com reported.

This is Presley's first child with her husband, guitarist and music producer Michael Lockwood. They married in Japan in January 2006.

Presley has two teen children with her ex-husband Danny Keough. She was also previously married to actor Nicolas Cage and singer Michael Jackson.

Presley said she felt pressured into revealing her latest pregnancy due to snarky remarks about "my expanding physique."

"After being the target all week of slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles in the media, I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant," Presley wrote on her MySpace Celebrity blog.

"It is unfortunate that I couldn't have announced something that is this much of a blessing and that has made us so incredibly happy under better circumstances."
