NEW YORK, March 5 (UPI) -- Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan said she is ready to put her recent substance abuse troubles behind her and concentrate on her music and acting careers.

Lohan, who has starred in the films "The Parent Trap," "Freaky Friday," and "Mean Girls," has made headlines in the past year for several brushes she had with the law and stints she did in rehab.

"My life was distracted by certain things and that got in the way of work," Lohan told People.com this week. "But now I'm back on track and figuring out what's next."

Lohan, 21, is getting ready to start shooting her role in the big-screen comedy "Ye Olde Times" with Jack Black and David Arquette, and she is also working on a new album.

"I'm recording right now (with) Motown and being in the studio again has been really great," she told People.com of her "dance, hip-hop and R&B album."

"It's all coming together," she said.
