ATLANTA, March 3 (UPI) -- Recording artist Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, has pleaded not guilty to battery charges stemming from a brawl at an Atlanta eatery.

The singer was not in court Monday when his lawyer entered the plea on his behalf, TMZ.com reported.

Ritchie and five members of his entourage were arrested last October on misdemeanor charges of simple battery after a fight allegedly broke out at a Waffle House, following a performance.
