LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- Canadian actress Ellen Page, nominated for an Oscar for her work in "Juno," has dropped out of Sam Raimi's new movie, "Drag Me to Hell."

Scheduling conflicts were to blame for the in-demand actress's departure, Variety.com reported Monday.

The supernatural thriller was to begin shooting March 17 in Los Angeles, but has been delayed until March 31, the trade newspaper said.

Raimi, best known for his three "Spider-Man" blockbusters, is directing "Hell" based on a script he wrote with his brother Ivan.

Page also recently signed on to star in the films "Peacock" and "Whip It."
