Portion of Hunter Tylo's lawsuit dismissed

LAS VEGAS, March 2 (UPI) -- Actress Hunter Tylo had a portion of her lawsuit against her late son's therapist dismissed this week by a Las Vegas judge, it was reported.

The Las Vegas judge removed Tylo's late son, Michael Tylo II, from the actress' wrongful death lawsuit as requested by Nevada therapist Shanna Downing, People magazine reported Saturday.

Tylo's 19-year-old son drowned last October and she sued Downing, who had counseled members of her family in 2004 and 2005.

Downing responded to the actress's litigation by filing a motion to have the late teenager dismissed as an involved party and Tylo was given an opportunity to counter the claim. According to court records, the actress did not respond and the dismissal request was granted.

People said the teenager's estate will still be part of a related malpractice suit scheduled to go to trial this year.
