FBI agent reveals Jagger homicide plot

LONDON, March 2 (UPI) -- An FBI agent has detailed how members of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang allegedly plotted killing British singer Mick Jagger more than three decades ago.

Former FBI special agent Mark Young alleges that following the Hells Angels participation in the infamous 1969 Altamont Speedway free concert, the U.S. motorcycle gang targeted the Rolling Stones lead singer for assassination, The Sunday Telegraph reported.

The northern California concert gained notoriety because a Stones fan was fatally stabbed by one of the Hells Angels, who were hired to provide security.

The Telegraph said the attack was captured on video by several cameras and after the concert, Jagger allegedly said he would never employ the gang again.

Young alleges that was why a group of Hells Angels members boarded a boat and were planning to enter Jagger's home to kill him. Yet poor weather at sea spoiled the assassination plot and Jagger was never informed of his brush with death, Young alleges.

Young revealed details of the alleged plot as part of a new BBC series about the FBI.
