NEW YORK, Feb. 29 (UPI) -- Socialite, former reality TV star and new mom Nicole Richie is in talks to play Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical "Chicago," a published report said Friday.

Usmagazine.com said Richie, who gave birth to baby daughter Harlow last month, is still deciding whether to take over the role in the long-running show.

"She's definitely interested and weighing it out with the timing of the baby," a source told the magazine. "It is in the super early stages of discussions and no decision has been made yet. It would give her a reason to really show her talent and to stay in the new place in New York (boyfriend Joel Madden) just got. ... It also shows people are really excited about Nicole right now."
