NEW YORK, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Whoopi Goldberg said she has accepted the explanation that her omission from a montage on Sunday's Oscar show in Los Angeles was an oversight.
The actress, comedienne and television personality was left out of a clip segment that featured all of the previous Oscar shows' hosts, except for her and Steve Martin.
Goldberg's fellow panelists on the daytime TV chat show "The View" pointed out the omission on-air Monday and criticized Oscar producers for excluding her.
Goldberg said on Wednesday's show Oscar producer Gil Cates had called her the day before, told her he loved her and that he never meant for her to be left out.
"He apologized and so because I know him to be a great gentleman, I accepted and so we move on from that," Goldberg said.
