LONDON, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- British pop singer Boy George has pleaded not guilty to charges he falsely imprisoned a male escort by chaining him to the wall of his London home last year.

The Culture Club frontman, whose real name is George O'Dowd, was arrested last year, but was releaased on bail until his trial begins at Snaresbrook Crown Court in November, the BBC reported Thursday.

The charges stem from a complaint lodged in April by a 28-year-old man.
