NEW YORK, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Hip-hop artist Andre Benjamin told reporters in New York he doesn't plan to give up music now that he is co-starring in films like "Semi-Pro."
Asked if he intended to step down from the music scene, Benjamin said, "No, no.
"I actually just started working on a new project. Me and Big Boi are doing separate solo albums and after that we will hopefully talk about doing the next OutKast album after the solo projects," he explained. "Big Boi's solo project will come out this summer. I haven't started recording yet, but I should come out at the end of this year. Who knows when another OutKast album will come out."
Benjamin has previously starred in the movies "Four Brothers" and "Idlewild," however, "Semi-Pro" marks his debut in both a broad comedy and a sports movie.
"Honestly, I'm new at it, so I'm kind of feeling myself out. I don't know what people respond to, what I'm best at," he said. "I'm really comfortable doing dramas. Comedy is actually harder than drama to me because you don't have a quick response, you don't have an audience that laughs when you do something funny."
