LOS ANGELES, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Tilda Swinton won the best supporting actress Oscar in Los Angeles Sunday for her performance in the legal thriller "Michael Clayton."

Also nominated in the category were Cate Blanchett, Ruby Dee, Saoirse Ronan and Amy Ryan.

Upon accepting her Oscar, Swinton looked at the statuette shaped like a male nude figure and told the audience, "I have an American agent who is the spitting image of this. ...

"I'm giving this to him because there's no way I'd be in America at all, ever on a plane, if it wasn't for him," the British actress said.

Swinton also praised the film's director Tony Gilroy, noting he "walks on water; it's entirely official," and then joked about how her co-star, George Clooney, showed incredible dedication to his art by wearing his superhero costume from "Batman & Robin" to the "Clayton" set every day.

"You rock, man," she told Clooney.
