NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- New Jersey's Six Flags Great Adventure theme park is getting the newest Batman-inspired roller coaster, the $7.5 million Dark Knight Coaster.

The New York Post said Sunday while the new ride will only last two minutes, passengers will be taken up to heights of 45 feet and travel at speeds of up to 30 mph as images of Batman's arch-villain, the Joker, pop up around them.

The roller coaster will have 1,213 feet of track and its 10 four-passenger cars will depart the boarding area individually every 14 seconds.

The new roller coaster is to debut at the New Jersey theme park April 26, the Post said.

To heighten the experience for park visitors, the ride will also come with exclusive video clips of the upcoming Batman film "The Dark Knight," which stars Christian Bale as the caped crusader and the late Heath Ledger as the Joker.
