LONDON, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- British singer Amy Winehouse is "full of life" and ready to perform at the Brits, England's version of the Grammy Awards, Winehouse's backup singer said.
Winehouse entered rehab last month to deal with her well-publicized addiction to drugs.
She performed and accepted one of her five Grammy Awards via satellite at a studio in London earlier this month.
Backup singer Zalon Thompson was with her on that triumphant night.
"She's full of energy, full of life," Thompson told People magazine. "It's a good thing."
Thompson added that Winehouse, who has left rehab but is still undergoing treatment, is "ready for the Brits" where she is expected to perform Wednesday night.
"I think sometimes it takes you to go through certain hard things to overcome and to go on to do better things," Thompson told the magazine. "She looked really good at the Grammys. She just looked very rested. It was great."
