NEW YORK, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- British actress Billie Piper will soon be seen on Showtime in the comedy series "Secret Diary of a Call Girl."

Piper, 25, is best known for her role on the science-fiction TV show "Doctor Who."

Her new series will be paired with the acclaimed show "Weeds," starring Mary-Louise Parker, on Showtime Monday nights, starting June 16.

Showtime said it has ordered 13 episodes for the fourth season of "Weeds," which begins production in April, and plans to air eight half-hour episodes of "Call Girl," which is the entire season of the show that is already a hit in the United Kingdom.
