LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Some TV production employees were to start the week by returning to work after a months-long writers' strike in Hollywood, a published report said.

An undetermined number of showrunners -- who oversee production of TV series -- were to report to the office Monday, and writers were due back on the job Wednesday, Daily Variety reported.

The decision to send some production employees and writers back to work followed the unanimous approval by the boards of the Writers Guild of America of a tentative contract agreement with production companies. WGA members are expected to vote by Tuesday night on whether to end the strike, which began Nov. 5.

A ballot-by-mail vote on whether to ratify the contract is expected to take 10 to 12 days to complete.

WGA West president Patric Verrone told entertainment reports at a news conference Sunday that writers with producing responsibilities on their shows will be permitted to return to work Monday, Variety said.
