PUEBLO, Colo., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Former TV writer Robert Guy Barrows, who wrote for TV series including "The Fugitive" and "Mission: Impossible," has died in Pueblo, Colo. at age 81.
Barrows, who also wrote for "Daniel Boone" during the 1960s and '70s, died Jan. 31 of complications from intestinal cancer surgery, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.
Barrows gained some fame for his work on a 1968 performance of "The Beard" at Los Angeles' Warner Playhouse. Not only was Barrows cited for producing a play with the proper permit, but he was arrested several times for lewd conduct related to the controversial production.
The charges ultimately led to a California Supreme Court case in 1970 in which the court found that live theatrical performances were exempt from the lewd-conduct law, the Times said.
Barrows is survived by his wife, Jeri Wacaster; six children; one stepchild; two grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
