DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Saudi professional illusionist Mamdouh al-Marzouqi has boasted he can make one of Egypt's three pyramids disappear, AlArabiya.net reported Friday.

"I'm currently looking for a sponsor for this illusion because it would cost a lot of money to implement," al-Marzouqi, who is known professionally as Mumdo, told the Arab News.

The former marketing manager confessed he dreams of becoming a famous magician, but noted it is a challenge given where he lives.

AlArabiya.net said people are often arrested in Saudi Arabia and charged with performing black magic; that is, pretending they have supernatural powers and conning others out of their money.

"People get confused between the art of illusions and 'black magic,'" al-Marzouqi told the Arab News. "I'm just an artist who performs tricks that does not defy the laws of physics or logic. ...

"One day I will have my own show in Las Vegas," he vowed.
