LONDON, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel Day-Lewis earned best director and best actor nods respectively at the London Critics Circle Awards for "There Will Be Blood."

Day-Lewis and Anderson were honored by the London entertainment group Friday, The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday.

While "Blood" captured two of Friday night's top awards, it was "No Country For Old Men" that was awarded the 28th London Critics Circle's best film award.

"No Country" standout Kelly MacDonald was honored with a best supporting actress award at the annual event, while Marion Cotillard was named best actress for her riveting performance in "La Vie en Rose."

The Reporter said the film "Control" earned the event's British Film of the Year award, while top British director kudos went to Paul Greengrass for his work on "The Bourne Ultimatum."

Meanwhile, the German film "The Lives of Others" was named best foreign-language film and also took home the award for best screenplay.
