CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- The Harvard Lampoon, the university's humor magazine, has bestowed its Woman of the Year award on heiress and actress Paris Hilton in Cambridge, Mass.
"They're honoring me for being in business and my acting," Hilton told the Boston Globe.
Best-known for her red-carpet appearances and years on the reality TV show "The Simple Life," Hilton will be seen starting Friday in the big-screen comedy "The Hottie & the Nottie."
"Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine standing here," the Globe said Hilton told an audience of about 100 students Wednesday. "It's really exciting and I've had such a great time."
The Lampoon prize is the magazine's answer to awards handed out by the university's Hasty Pudding Theatricals, which were scheduled to honor actress Charlize Theron with its Woman of the Year Award Thursday and actor Christopher Walken with a Man of the Year award next week.
The Globe said Hilton seemed enthusiastic as she stood outside the Lampoon office and addressed the crowd.
"You guys are so hot! Harvard is so hot!" she said.
