NEW YORK, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- The audience at Sunday's performance of the Broadway musical "Spamalot" was reportedly treated to Super Bowl updates throughout the show.

"Rick Holmes, who plays the 'Knight Who Says Ni,' made his entrance and said, 'Patriots 7, Giants 3 -- and Tom Petty is singing, "She was an American girl." Come on, let's go see if there's a wardrobe malfunction,'" a backstage source told the New York Daily News.

"When Rick returned a few scenes later as Tim the Enchanter, he said, in a thick Scottish brogue, 'Still 7 to 3 with five minutes to go in the third quarter -- and I saw Tom Petty's breast!'"

The hit show is based on the classic 1975 comedy film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."
