NEW YORK, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- The trial for the man accused of stalking actress Uma Thurman in New York has tentatively been set for March 11.

Jackson Jordan, 36, is accused of intentionally frightening Thurman by repeatedly trying to contact her and sending her disturbing letters.

He was arrested near her home in Manhattan last October and faces up to a year in prison if convicted.

The New York Post said Jordan wrote in one letter left on Thurman's doorstep, "I feel afraid that if I see you out again with another man, I will want to kill myself, maybe even after we meet."

Jordan's attorney told the Post his client was trying to woo, not scare, Thurman with his actions.

"He was just a romantic pursuing the woman that he loved," defense attorney George Vomvolakis said.

Thurman is best-known for her roles in "Pulp Fiction" and the "Kill Bill" flicks.
