LONDON, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Singer Amy Winehouse reportedly left her London rehab Monday to go to the U.S. Embassy to renew her visa, so she could attend the Grammy Awards this weekend.

Winehouse is nominated for six of the prestigious music prizes, which will be handed out Sunday in Los Angeles.

Her representative confirmed to Usmagazine.com the troubled recording artist made a quick trip out Monday to try to get her papers in order.

Winehouse's father Mitch told reporters she has since gone back to rehab and "has not left for good," the magazine said.

"The appointment at the U.S. Embassy was made some time ago and was part of the process for obtaining a visa. No decision has been made about the Grammys," the singer's spokesperson told the Sun newspaper.

However, a source told Usmagazine.com Winehouse "is desperate to go and has been told she can go on the condition that she has a minder there and returns to rehab when back in the U.K."

Winehouse entered rehab last month to deal with her highly publicized addiction to drugs.
