His new album is titled "It is Time For a Love Revolution," and Kravitz said it's a message that's been "quite consistent" since he debuted 18 years ago with "Let Love Rule."

"I'm all about being positive from Day One," Kravitz said. "It's funny, because if you're really negative, they don't say anything. But when you're positive, it's like, 'What is this hippie, corn pone, bull ...'

"People don't get it at all. I'm like, 'Wait a minute; Why does love have to have a time period? Why is love not universal and timeless?' I thought it was really strange, but it doesn't stop me."

"Love Revolution" is Kravitz's ninth studio album and features two singles, "Bring it On" and "I'll Be Waiting."
