LOS ANGELES , Feb. 4 (UPI) -- "Semi-Pro" won't open in U.S. theaters until Feb. 29 but the video for its song "Love Me Sexy" has already been viewed more than 1 million times online.

The first single from the soundtrack of the upcoming New Line Cinema comedy "Semi-Pro" was released by New Line Records Jan. 29 and is available on all digital service providers.

The video for "Love Me Sexy" has been viewed more than 1 million times since it was released Jan. 22, and it was the No. 1 video on YouTube Jan. 25.

The song is performed by Jackie Moon, Will Ferrell's character in the film, which is set in 1976 and is about a one-hit wonder who used the profits from the success of his chart-topping song "Love Me Sexy" to achieve his dream of owning a basketball team.

In addition to "Love Me Sexy," the movie's soundtrack will feature classic 1970s tracks from Curtis Mayfield, War, LaBelle, Sly and the Family Stone, and the Ohio Players, as well as Elijah Kelley's cover of the Earth, Wind & Fire song "Shining Star," New Line said in a statement.
