Don Ho's daughter sues over property

HONOLULU, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Don Ho's daughter is alleging the late Hawaiian music icon violated a deathbed pact with her mother regarding a Lanikai beachfront property.

Hololulu's KITV said Dondi Ho-Costa has filed a lawsuit claiming her father promised his first wife, Melva, he would "place the (Lanikai) home into a trust for Melva's benefit for her life, and then for the benefit of her children ... after she died."

However, Ho-Costa alleged in her court petition that, "Don failed to do so, and thereby breached the agreement."

She said Don Ho transferred the Lanikai home to his own trust, which benefits his first six children, as well as four children by two other women, KITV said.

Ho-Costa is requesting a new trust be drawn, ensuring only she, Melva and Don's five other children benefit from the Lanikai property.
