NEW YORK, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Actor Robert De Niro and hip-hop mogul Curtis "50 Cent' Jackson teamed up for an interview and photo spread for VIBE magazine's special Hollywood Issue.
Due to hit newsstands Tuesday, the interview features the two stars talking about their roles in "Righteous Kill," which is to open in U.S. theaters this fall.
"Curtis, he's ... he's got good instincts," De Niro told VIBE when asked what advice he would give Jackson about acting.
"I grew up watching his movies," Jackson remarked. "One of my favorites was 'Goodfellas.' I could watch that over and over. He was amazing."
Asked if he tires of being known for the gangsters he plays, De Niro replied: "Those characters are more exciting. People like to watch and identify with them in some ways. It's a fantasy."
"Righteous Kill," which also stars Al Pacino, is a psychological thriller about a pair of veteran New York City police detectives tracking a vigilante serial killer.
"I get a chance to feel normal when I'm around Robert," Jackson told Vibe. "His celebrity is so strong that I get a chance to feel like a normal person for a little bit. People get nervous around him."
