NEW YORK, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- A Cosmopolitan magazine employee is suing the individual who installed lights that "scalped" her when they fell on her head during a New York event.

Karen Hanes Larrain's attorney, Michael Schlesinger, said his client received more than 30 stitches after a bank a lights fell on her during a 2005 fashion show during New York's Fashion Week, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.

"She was scalped," Schlesinger said of his client, who also suffered a concussion.

The 40-year-old Cosmopolitan staffer already has a lawsuit pending against Diane von Furstenberg, the designer behind the September 2005 fashion show, regarding her injuries.

Now Larrain is suing French lighting designer Thierry Dreyfus and Deborah Hughes Inc., the Daily News said.

Dreyfus designed the light fixture that fell, while the public relations company is being targeted for having placed Larrain in her seat the night of the accident.
