LOS ANGELES, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- "Wuthering Heights," the classic British novel about doomed lovers Cathy and Heathcliff, is reportedly about to be adapted for the big screen -- again.

No cast has been announced, but the film is expected to begin shooting in the fall, Variety.com reported Thursday.

"The Edge of Love" and "The Jacket" director John Maybury will helm the movie from a screenplay penned by Olivia Hetreed, the trade paper said.

Published in 1847, Emily Bronte's novel has been adapted for film and television more than a dozen times.

The most famous incarnation is the 1939 feature film, starring Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon.
