LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Julia Roberts has reportedly signed on to produce and star in the big-screen adaptation of Margot Berwin's upcoming novel "Hothouse Flowers."

Roberts can be seen in the current release "Charlie Wilson's War" and has previously starred in "Steel Magnolias," "Pretty Woman," "Erin Brockovich" and "Ocean's Eleven."

In "Hothouse," she would play a recently divorced woman who chucks her career at a New York advertising agency and sets out on a new adventure, The Hollywood Reporter said.

No script for the film has been written, however, due to the Writers Guild of America strike, which began Nov. 5, the trade paper said.
