MARBELLA, Spain, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Authorities in Spain have warned actor Antonio Banderas he has eight weeks to tear down an addition on his vacation home near Marbella or lose it altogether.

The officials said a substantial section of Banderas' $10 million, beachfront mansion was built by a previous owner without the proper permits, the Daily Telegraph reported Friday.

Now Banderas has eight weeks to tear the portion down or face the whole house being demolished.

The move was made as part of a recent crackdown by Spanish authorities on illegal building, the Telegraph said.
