LOS ANGELES, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Britney Spears reportedly did not win back visitation rights with her sons at an emergency custody hearing she requested in Los Angeles Wednesday.

Although Spears' attorneys sought reinstatement of her visitation rights, Spears did not attend the court session.

Neither she nor her ex-husband Kevin Federline, the father of her two children, are required to attend the hearings.

"The hearing is over. The previous custody orders -- in which Ms. Spears has no visitation -- have not changed," court representative Allan Parachini told People.com.

"Both sides were heard in court. Notice was taken of Ms. Spears' absence by the court," Parachini added. "She arrived at the courthouse, but (shortly afterward) indicated that she wanted to leave. Kevin did answer some questions posed by (Commissioner Scott Gordon)."

Spears was stripped of her visitation rights indefinitely earlier this month.

The decision to do so came after police were called to Spears' house because she refused to give the children back to their father at the end of a visit, and the pop singer ended up being hospitalized for drug testing and a psychological evaluation.
