Rhymes gets probation, fine for assault

NEW YORK, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- U.S. rapper Busta Rhymes was sentenced in New York Wednesday to three years probation after pleading guilty to charges stemming from four separate incidents.

Busta Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, was also ordered by a Manhattan judge to perform 10 days of community service; pay a fine of $1,250, plus court costs and enroll in a Driving While Intoxicated program, New York Newsday reported.

Smith was accused of assaulting his former driver and a fan, driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
