LONDON , Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Police in London have confirmed they will assess a video allegedly showing troubled singer Amy Winehouse smoking a crack pipe.

The Sun, a British newspaper, ran video footage Tuesday on its Web site showing Winehouse smoking what appears to be a crack pipe. She can be heard on the video saying she took six Valium and the newspaper also claimed the singer had consumed cocaine and ecstasy during the binge

"We will assess the footage to ascertain whether any action needs to be taken," a Scotland Yard spokesman told the BBC.

Although she is nominated for six Grammy Awards, her record company Island, a division of Universal Music, is considering scrapping a U.S. campaign to promote Winehouse and her music, the Times of London said Wednesday.

"It may be time to draw a line under it all and move on," Nick Gatfield, the label's president, told the Times.

However, Gatfield also noted Winehouse is an immensely talented artist and said the label would give her time to sort things out with "absolutely no pressure from the company" to go back to work.
