LOS ANGELES, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Paige Davis has returned as host of the U.S. home-decorating show "Trading Spaces" after a three-year absence.
The cable TV network announced in 2005 it was moving in a "new creative direction" and the show would no longer have a host.
However, ratings dropped after Davis was let go and TLC has since decided to reinstate her as host.
"My departure was very bad; it was a decision I didn't understand," Davis told the New York Daily News. "I was pretty hurt by the people who were running TLC at the time."
Davis admitted it took some time to deal with the disappointment.
"I had dedicated so much of myself that wasn't in my job description," she said. "I took it a little harder than warranted. But it came out of left field and was done in a relatively brutal way."
Davis decided to return to the show because there is a new management team at TLC and "Trading Spaces" is produced by a different company, the Daily News said.
The series will also return to its original format when the new season begins Saturday.
