KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- A funeral service for Hollywood actor Brad Renfro is set to take place in his hometown of Knoxville, Tenn.

The service is scheduled for Monday night and the star of "Apt Pupil" and "Sleepers" will be buried Tuesday at noon, Usmagazine.com reported.

Renfro, who had battled drug and alcohol addiction for years, died last week at the age of 25.

The cause of his death was not immediately determined and an autopsy was conducted Thursday, however, toxicology test results are not expected to be announced for several weeks.

"He was a hometown boy who did real good, and it breaks my heart he is gone," Johnny Knoxville, Renfro's co-star in the 2002 film "Deuces Wild" told "The Insider." "He was so young and so sweet."

Susan Sarandon, who starred with Renfro in the 1994 big-screen drama, "The Client," also had kind words.

"I had the pleasure of working with Brad when he was 11," Sarandon told People.com. "It was obvious to everyone that he was the sweetest, most incredibly gifted young actor to come along for some time. My heart goes out to the family for their tragic loss."
