DeGeneres, Jonas joke about fall

BURBANK, Calif., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. pop singer Joe Jonas took time during a recent filming of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to joke around with the TV talk show host about his falls on stage.

When Jonas filmed an episode of "Ellen" scheduled to air next week, the popular TV host offered him a helmet to protect him during falls such as the one he endured at last year's American Music Awards, People magazine reported Friday.

"I hate to cover up that hair," DeGeneres told the Jonas Brothers star, "because it¹s good hair, but it's more important that you stay safe."

Jonas had been performing with his fellow group members during the awards show last year when he tripped on a prop and landed in broken glass.

While performing last month in Atlantic City, N.J., he fell again, earning himself a visit to a local emergency room.

People reported Jonas accepted DeGeneres' gag gift, adding that it might serve an additional use beyond protection.

"I can pick up some cute chicks," Jonas said.
