LONDON , Jan. 18 (UPI) -- The British rock group The Rolling Stones have teamed up with Universal Music Group for a new CD to be released in March.

The one-album deal is for the soundtrack from director Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones concert film "Shine a Light," Universal Music Group said in a statement.

"The band are looking forward to working with Universal Music and are excited about this new venture," a Stones spokesman said.

The new deal follows the band's record-breaking A Bigger Bang World Tour, which ended at London's O2 Arena in August.

The "Shine a Light" soundtrack will get a physical and digital release on Universal Music's labels around the world and will be released in the United States by Interscope Records.

The Daily Telegraph reported Friday the Stones will not renew their contract with EMI when it expires in May, ending a 16-year collaboration with the British record label, which was recently taken over by Terra Firma, a private equity firm owned by financier Guy Hands.

Radiohead has already left the label and numerous other artists, including Robbie Williams, Coldplay and Paul McCartney, are said to be thinking about exiting, as well, the Telegraph reported.
