PURCHASE , N.Y., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- A Pepsi Stuff commercial starring U.S. pop star Justin Timberlake was scheduled to air during the Super Bowl, the Pepsi-Cola Company announced Monday.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, director of the feature film "Lars and the Real Girl," the Super Bowl commercial features Timberlake doing a number of wild stunts to demonstrate how Pepsi Stuff brings people closer to music, merchandise and apparel.

"Justin Timberlake is one of the biggest stars in the world, what better way to launch our biggest promotion ever than with him on the Super Bowl?" Cie Nicholson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Pepsi-Cola North America, said in a statement.

Starting Feb. 1, consumers who purchase Pepsi products will be able to bank points on PepsiStuff.com and redeem them for prizes.

Super Bowl XLII is scheduled for Feb. 3 in Glendale, Ariz.
