LYNWOOD, Calif., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Actress Michelle Rodriguez was released from a California prison after serving 18 days of a 180-day sentence for violating her probation.

Rodriguez, best-known for her roles on TV's "Lost" and the film "Girlfight," left the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., Wednesday, E! Online reported.

The actress was behind bars for violating her probation in a driving under the influence case.

"She was treated the same way as all female inmates," Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said in a statement. "The sheriff supports the desire to have inmates serve their full sentence but is limited because of the extent of overcrowding."
