LAS VEGAS , Jan. 9 (UPI) -- As Hollywood's writers continued to fight for compensation for material used in new media, NBC.com announced its new slate of content for mid-season.
The Writers Guild of America has been on strike against Hollywood's movie studios and TV networks since Nov. 5, shutting down most scripted TV series and several film projects.
"We are fortunate to have great mid-season programming that is a natural fit for a digital entertainment experience," Vivi Zigler of NBC Digital Entertainment said in a statement. "Users will find a wealth of new content, interactive features and exclusive video to entertain them during the cold winter days."
For instance, "Lipstick Jungle's" Bonfire Magazine, in partnership with iVillage, will come to life online as a fully editorialized publication, while new sites for the "Knight Rider" movie, "American Gladiators," "Celebrity Apprentice," "quarterlife" and "Baby Borrowers" are to be established this month.
NBC.com said it will also stream many mid-season series, along with collections of past episodes, offering fans a way to catch up with their favorite shows and sample new content.
Original and enhanced features for "Medium," "Biggest Loser," "Scrubs" and "Days of Our Lives" are also set to go live this month.
