GROTON, Mass., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- A new poll suggested Hollywood actor Johnny Depp was the top money-making star of 2007, a distinction he also achieved in 2006.
Depp, who headlined "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" in 2007, was named the year's top money-making star in Quigley Publishing Co.'s 76th annual poll.
The survey asks motion picture exhibitors to vote for the 10 stars they believe generated the most box-office revenue for their theaters in the preceding year.
Depp first appeared on the register in the No. 6 spot in 2003 and he was second to Tom Cruise in 2005.
Will Smith was No. 2 on the 2007 list, followed by George Clooney at No. 3, Matt Damon at No. 4 and Denzel Washington at No. 5.
Rounding out the top 10 were Russell Crowe at No. 6, Tom Cruise at No. 7, Nicolas Cage at No. 8, Will Ferrell at No. 9 and Tom Hanks at No. 10.
This is the first list in 24 years that did not included a female star in the top 10, the pollsters said.
