Rowling: 8th Potter book a possibility

LONDON, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- British novelist J.K. Rowling said she hasn't completely ruled out writing another book about the magical world she created in her Harry Potter series.

Rowling previously said she would end the blockbuster boy wizard series, which inspired a popular film franchise. The seventh installment released this summer.

"There have been times since finishing, weak moments," the author said in an interview with Time magazine, "when I've said, 'Yeah, all right, to the eighth novel.'"

Rowling said, however, that if she did write an eighth book in the series, Harry probably won't be the main character.

"If, and it's a big if, I ever write an eighth book ... I doubt that Harry would be the central character," she told Time. "I feel like I've already told his story. But these are big ifs. Let's give it 10 years and see how we feel then."

The author and mother of three made Time's 2007 Person of the Year list.

Rowling is now working on an adult novel and a "political fairy tale," Time said.
