NEW YORK, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- U.S. pop singer and TV star Miley Cyrus says there is "nothing wrong" with photos showing her sharing a piece of candy mouth-to-mouth with a female friend.

The photos have been making the rounds with some media outlets implying they are sexually suggestive.

"They're nothing bad!" Cyrus,15, told New York's Z100 radio station Friday.

"Honestly, what I keep thinking is, I try to like just keep my cool. At first, I was really upset. It really sucks to be honest because it was a friend of mine that is a normal girl and -- look at me getting all upset -- the worst part is she has to go to school and deal with that crap. I have to deal with that anyways," the "Hannah Montana" star said before her sold-out concert at Nassau Coliseum.

"I deal with that all the time, but this girl doesn't even have to deal with that and it's so hard and there was nothing wrong with it. It's two girls at a sleepover. And if, all of a sudden, that's bad, then what is the world coming to?"
