TMZ: Jamie Lynn to get $1M for baby pics

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- OK! magazine has reportedly agreed to pay U.S. television actress and teen mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears $1 million for photos to be taken when her baby is born.

TMZ.com quoted sources who said Spears was not paid for the OK! interview that had entertainment journalists and bloggers buzzing Wednesday. However, she will get $1 million for a photo shoot with the baby when he or she is born.

Spears and her mother told OK! the "Zoey 101" star is about 12 weeks pregnant, but TMZ.com claimed she is further along than that.

The Web site also said Spears' mother, Lynne, had developed a relationship with OK! earlier this year when her older daughter Britney had a disastrous photo shoot with them and Lynne Spears called the magazine to thank them "for handling it so well."

Lynne Spears reportedly rang the magazine this week when she learned news of Jamie Lynn's pregnancy was about to break.

"She trusted them to do it in a way that would be sympathetic to her daughter," the source told TMZ.com.

Copy of the Magna Carta sells for $21.3M

NEW YORK, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Billionaire David Rubenstein has bought a 710-year-old copy of Britain's Magna Carta for $21.3 million at a Sotheby's auction in New York.

"I've always believed it was an important document in our country. Therefore, I'm privileged to be the owner," Rubenstein told the New York Post, adding he plans to display the copy, the only one from the era in the United States, at the National Archives. A total of seventeen copies are known to exist, the BBC said.

"I thought it was very important that the Magna Carta stay in the U.S.," Rubenstein said. "I feared it would escape and go to another country."

Britain's King John was forced to sign the Magna Carta, which curbed the power of the British monarchy and inspired the framers of the U.S. Constitution, in 1215.

The copy bought by Rubenstein was placed on the auction block by former presidential candidate Ross Perot, who plans to donate the proceeds from the sale to his charitable foundation, the Post said.

Groban CD is year's best seller

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Josh Groban's "Noel" has made music history as the first Christmas album to top the U.S. album charts for four consecutive weeks, Billboard.com said Wednesday.

Coming in at No. 2 is Alicia Keys' "As I Am," followed by The Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" at No. 3, the compilation CD "Now 26" at No. 4 and Mannheim Steamroller's "Christmas Song" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "High School Musical 2" at No. 6, Miley Cyrus' "Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus" at No. 7, Taylor Swift's self-titled CD at No. 8, Carrie Underwood's "Carnival Ride" at No. 9 and Garth Brooks' "The Ultimate Hits" at No. 10.

Comic actress Catherine Tate, his new co-star on the popular sci-fi series, said in a radio interview during the weekend that she thought next season would be Tennant's last, the BBC reported Wednesday.

"Catherine Tate stitched me up good and proper," Tennant told the BBC at the premiere of the show's Titanic-themed Christmas special. "I started getting all these phone calls on Saturday lunchtime saying: 'Apparently you're leaving "Doctor Who." Catherine Tate's just announced it on Radio 2.' Thanks Catherine!"

Tennant said he talked to Tate Monday and asked, "Did you know you've caused a minor diplomatic incident?"

"She was completely oblivious that the phone had been ringing off the hook," he said.

In addition to starring in the upcoming 2008 season, Tennant is also confirmed to headline four "Doctor Who" specials the following year.

"I'm doing four more specials and beyond that no one's asked me to make any decisions and I'm quite happy to be enigmatic for as long as possible," he told the BBC.
